2006 Michael Martin Murphey Concert

In 2006, two Michael Martin Murphey concerts topped a weekend filled with Mineral County Fairgrounds activities including a pre-concert reception, country-western dancing lessons, a parade, roping competitions, gymkhana, pancake breakfast, and Cowboy Church.

"Michael Martin Murphey rolled into Creede from his home in Taos, New Mexico, the evening of June 16th to play a concert and dance at the historic Elks Lodge. An outdoor encore performance on Saturday, June 17, at the Mineral County Fairgrounds presented Murphey in concert amid the panoramic grandeur of Creede’s mountain scenery. Murphy’s offer to do two concerts for the Father’s Day weekend festivities provided a rare opportunity for all live music fans.

Creede, with an established reputation as one of America ’s best 100 small art towns, has been featured by “True West” magazine as one of the West’s best destination towns two years in a row."
